Wild Wolves

The Wild Wolves MC club was established by the founding families of Big Sky. The Wild Wolves MC Club was established back in 1899 after the first production of motorcycles in the US was the Orient-Aster, built by Charles Metz in 1898 at his factory in Waltham, Massachusetts. They had heard wind of the two wheel vehicles across the sea and seen pictures of them. So as not to be left out when the first ones were made and opened to sell to the public they took the stage coach headed to Waltham, Massachusetts. First in line they all bought themselves the brand new bikes. They spent a few days figuring them out, and some newspapermen even got some pictures of them so they were able to get copies of them that hang up in the clubhouse they built. Once they got the hang of the new bikes they headed home on the dirt roads as that was all there was back then. It sure didn't take as long as it did riding the stagecoach as they were able to go up to seven miles an hour on them. A fact they bragged about to anyone they came in contact with. [break][break]

It still took them a few days, but they rode into town on their bikes as if they owned it. Which, they were the founders of the town. Those that were married quickly took their wives for a ride wanting them to love it as well. Some of them did, but others absolutely refused to do so. Their kids were next and starting a love of bikes that goes down many generations. The club today isn't really an outlaw biker gang though some think that they are. They are a family oriented MC that loves the club life and their families sharing the love of it with them to pass on through more generations to come! [break][break]

They built the clubhouse which still stands today over a hundred years later. One hundred twenty-five years exactly. The clubhouse is still as sturdy as the day it was built as well taken care of as it is. Some of the members have lived there over the years. Especially if they never married, and wanted to be on their own away from their families. Today it's where the younger ones escape to have their freedom.[break][break]

In 1902 the growing Wild Wolves MC made the trip to buy the new Indian Single motorcycle that had just come out. Wanting the new trend and to try something new out. When the first Harley Davidson came out in 1905 they made another trip with an even bigger club to purchase the New Harley Davidson. They bought out the store, and a few had to order their bikes to have delivered to Big Sky. Today members can be found riding either an Indian or a Harley Davidson.[break][break]

The first six were confronted by their wives soon after the club was established. A promise was made to them that no daughter would ever be a part of this little club of theirs. At that time they had no idea that any daughters born to them would ever want to ride or have their own motorcycle. Over time daughters did become interested in being more than just an Old Lady, and learned how to ride themselves. Today every child born to a member usually rides, and does MotoCross that was introduced back in 1906. Getting to buy their own Harley or Indian when they turn sixteen. The legal age in Montana is 15, and the kids get to learn to ride on older bikes, before getting to get their own a year later.
